"Ghe" is the Vietnamese word for the small boat that carried my family through a perilous month-long journey from Vietnam to Hong Kong. It is more than just a boat, it represents the heart-stopping leap of faith my parents took, risking everything for the chance to give their children a better life. This label is dedicated to them, my true heroes.
Our wines are born from the earth with love, care, and the spirit of resilience. Sustainably grown, hand-picked, and crafted using old-world methods, they are a testament to the dedication of traditional wine making with minimal intervention. The grapes are from a single vineyard located in Greenock, in the North Western Barossa Valley - Dating back to 1864. This vineyard has been the birth place to many premium fine Barossa Valley wines for three centuries. Aged for no less than 24 months in a combination of new and seasoned French oak, each bottle is allowed to mature until it is worthy of your attention.
Our trilogy of wines captured in the three famous Barossa Valley verities ( Shiraz, Grenache and GSM) is a deeply personal tribute to my family’s journey, encapsulating the three defining phases of our escape to freedom:
Escape - A celebration of Vietnam, my homeland, where courage and love were forged in the face of war.
Hope - A tribute to Hong Kong, the city that welcomed us, taught us, and offered a glimmer of hope.
Dream - A homage to Australia, our hero, where we found our home, our future, and the freedom to dream.
Each wine is limited to only 1575 bottles, a number that holds special meaning to us, as we were the 1575th Vietnamese refugee boat to arrive on Hong Kong’s shores.
